Mental/Military

Mental/Military is a series of pictures from the homes of long-term mental patients and professional militarys. First of all both groups have theire lives regulated by more rules then other people.

Home, rules and feeling secure are some of the questions. What makes a home? Are rules a good or a bad thing? Who are secure?

The serie is photographed at the military homes in Suomenlinna, Helsinki and at the, now closed, mental institution in Nikkilä in 1999.
